Are you that first time mom that has read everything about becoming a new mom? And also received tons advice from friends and family on what you need for your baby. No matter how much advice you get, there are some-things that nobody ever tells us concerning what we need when the baby arrives.
Today I'm going to be taking you through three basic things you need as a new mom, living in Nigeria or diaspora.
You see in today's world, we have the name brand and the store brand when it comes to preparing for your baby, no matter your budget, there is always something you can get in preparation for your tiny tot.
The number one thing, you should buy apart from that long list they give you in General Hospitals here in Nigeria is a Car Seat. There are different types of car seats, so it's important you buy the infant car seat recommended for 0-12months for your new born, and as your baby grows, you can think of upgrading it.
I would recommend the Graco SnugRide 35 LX with Safety Surround Protection Infant Car seat, for those who don't have a budget. Its quite pricey but believe me its worth it. Your baby will snuggle up nicely in this one.
For those new moms on a budget, the Evenflo Infant Nuture Car Seat is what you need. It is so affordable and can be accessorized to give your baby the desired snuggle. There are varieties to choose from when it comes to car seat accessories, but for your baby's comfort, I will recommend Carter's novelty head support. At the end of the day you would have spent a very reasonable amount of money on your baby's comfort.
A Stroller or a buggy as some of you call it, would have come in as number two but because in this part of the world, where are you going to with a stroller? The thought of Okada and Napep will definitely make you have a rethink before unfolding that stroller and hitting the road with it, so I will say at number two we have the Baby Carrier. The Baby Carrier is so convenient and easy to wear, and very comfortable for baby and mummy.
The Ergo Baby Four Position 360 Carrier is the number one pick by moms on baby center for 2016. According to reviews, the support is very fantastic and the quality is excellent. This can be afforded by a mom on a budget too, so I'll say its a fantastic buy.
Our final new mommy must have is the Diaper Bag. When it comes to the diaper bag, new moms should be concerned about the functionality of the bag and not just the brand name. Some moms are designer addict and cant help splurging on those designer brands(it's allowed), In as much as you want your diaper bag to look dainty and top of the range, consider buying one that will be very useful to you.
For the Diaper Bag, I will recommend Carter's Child of Mine diaper bag, it's got a lot of pockets for both baby and mommy. You don't have to carry an additional bag with this one, its so roomy, and has a very appealing colour, It is durable and totally affordable.
Now over to you, tell us about those products you could not do without as a new or experienced mom.

ReplyDeleteBut eskiss ma, are these pocket friendly to the average Nigerian?
Where in Lagos, Nigeria(where I reside) can I get these items?
Lastly, it'll be nice for you to do a post on the readily available and affordable ones in Lagos. Not all of us are Lekki wives. Thank you.
Mrs S-O thx for ur comment. You can actually get Graco,Evenflo and Carter Products in lagos. You can get them in baby stores on the mainland likewise on the island. If u go to dosunmu market in lagos islnd,u will be surprised to find all these products there.
