First it was the waist clincher craze, now its the madness called slimming tea....

I remember two years ago when the sudden craze for waist clincher became the must have tummy flattening weapon, every female around me owned one of those waist clinchers, trainers or whatever you choose to call it. Fast forward to the year 2016,the hype is no longer on waist clincher, we have a new wonder-working tummy slimmer called Slimming Tea.

Trust Nigerians and the bandwagon effect, all you need is a celebrity to endorse your product without even trying it, and everyone is hooked on it, forgetting that these celebrities are paid to advertise these products and "might" have never tried to use them.

Do these slimming teas really work? I mean, I can't imagine the logic or the science behind drinking only slimming tea to have a flatter tummy? It makes no sense at all. I have never tried one before, and will never try it, but I'm extremely curious to know if it does work and if any one who has used any of the popular ones endorsed by our on-screen Nollywood goddesses can give us first hand review based on user experience.

It baffles me how anyone will believe that a slimming tea will make them have that 7 packs on Flavour, oh my God! just stop kidding me...Don't we all know he got that pack from exercise, who would believe he even takes it? Not me though..

What about the long term effect it could possibly have on people's health? Do people actually research on all these things before they get hooked on these slimming teas?Just because you want to look fabulous like those who represent these products/brands doesn't actually mean that they may be consuming these products.

I once read about a girl who died from complications of this concotion called slimming tea, she starved herself and only had the slimming tea for days. Who are we trying to impress? Ourselves or the world? If you must loose some fat in any area of your body, please consider a healthy diet and exercise and not a quick fix such as all the slimming teas and waist clinchers flooding the market to convince people that there is magic somewhere.

When you see the Kardashians in waist clinchers, just know that they are advertising the product, dont get carried away by their physique,we all know where their to-die-for body came from, its definitely not from waist clinchers, trainers or slimming teas.

In as much as I respect all the slimming tea brand ambassadors we have around here, let one thing be constant in your mind when you see them advertising these products, "there are no before or after pictures to judge their claim to a flatter tummy through the consumption of slimming tea''. Just take a good look at Mercy Aigbe, we all know that tummy and beautiful figure isnt slimming tea, and that's why we love her right?

From online reviews on slimming teas, it is obvious that most of the slimming tea products have laxatives in them and we all know what that means, the risk of loosing weight through quick fixes always outweighs its benefits.

Which of the slimming teas have you tried, please share your experiences to educate others.
