Why Your Brand needs a Slogan.

In creating a brand, people often think a lot more about the brand name before considering the brand slogan, For those who don't know what a Brand Slogan is, it is the promise or the commitment or the objective the brand represents or stands for.


Your Brand Slogan is a vital aspect of your marketing and selling strategy which shouldn't be overlooked. It is a critical aspect of a business, which major businesses have paid serious attention to.


Over the years, we have seen companies come and go, but those catchy slogans never leave our minds. Take for example Gold Spot, a very popular fizzy drink in the early 90s, Gold Spot was the Zing Thing, even as the product is no longer in production, the Slogan still remains fresh in many minds.
As people we want  to be remembered for something unique when we are gone, it is also very essential for a brand to be known and remembered for something great, that's why having a Brand Slogan that not only has a catchy phrase, but has substance to it is key, and plays a vital role in positioning your brand.


A Company's brand Slogan is a promise,  and  for a brand to be successful, it has to consistently deliver its promise in order to create lasting values. Please for the sake of clarity, note that your brand slogan and your brand vision may align but they are two distinct things entirely. While a brand's vision may be captured in three to hundred sentences or more  , a brand's slogan should be short, precise, direct and apt.


In Nigeria, we have numerous brands with slogans that have come to stay in our hearts, like it is everywhere else in the world.   Just like everyone knows the famous Nike logo, so we know the Slogan - Just do it!  Very short but powerful slogan, and this amongst other brand values has endeared a lot of people to that brand.
