Raf Simons-The New Addition to the Calvin Klein Team


Raf Simons who happens to be the former women's designer for Christian Dior is the new Chief Creative Officer for the Calvin Klein Company.

According to his Wikipedia page, Raf Simons is a belgian who started out as a furniture designer, before launching his own menswear label in 1995.
He joined Christian Dior as a Creative Director in 1995 and resigned in 2015, which was due to the fact that he decided not to renew his contract.

He is said to be one of the most influential men's designer of the past two decades and he launched his own design label in 1995. Raf Simon also pulished a book titled Redux, about the first 10 years of his career. And he has had numerous achievement in his career.

On the 2nd August 2016, Calvin Klein, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of PVH Corp., announced the appointment of Raf Simons as Chief Creative Officer of the brand.


Simons will lead the creative strategy of the Calvin Klein brand globally across the Calvin Klein Collection, Calvin Klein Platinum, Calvin Klein, Calvin Klein Jeans, Calvin Klein Underwear and Calvin Klein Home brands.

As part of his role as Chief Creative Officer, Simons will oversee all aspects of Design, Global Marketing and Communications, and Visual Creative Services. He is expected to debut his first collection for the Fall 2017 season.

What do you think this new appointment means for the brand, we all know the Calvin Klein brand to be a very great brand with a wide range of collection to accommodate every one's style and everyone's budget. What's your take on this move?
